Scary and Ugly

Strange and real

What is true

Scary and ugly

Is the way it is

We search in places

We grope for solace

In the real world

We smile and hope
We keep hoping

Even when we are taught despair

We are waiting in vain

For our very own

Tear us in pieces

Those we trusted

Have shamed us

We are on the fringe

We are barely holding on

Yet we smile

We hope in the despair

For we have no where to turn to

We keep on keeping.

After a long break, my muse has awoken. I read a poem “Ambush” by Gbemisola Adeoti and it has inspired this one.
Until next time,
