Once I Was A Girl… Poetry

Once I was a girl

I thought like you

I loved the world

I smiled at strangers

Once I was a girl

I dressed to please

I chat to tease

I was carefree

I was hit and pushed

I was shoved to the ground

They say I was gullible

They said I was naive

I had to unlearn these things

I had to show an opposite of me

I was a girl once upon a time

A girl just like you.
