The forbidden
Looks so tantalizing

Go away
From it, mother warns
There is death
In the red pudding

The color
Draws me in
The scent
Calls for me

It is forbidden
She says.
*****
In response to the daily prompt Forbidden

Wow! Very interesting take. Have you watched ‘The Village’ ? In that movie people bury any flower that blooms bearing the forbidden color, because it attracts ‘those we do not speak of’

I haven’t watched it. Is it an Indian movie?

Oh, it is a Hollywood movie. About a community of people living in a village disconnected from the rest of the world.
