Keep on trusting!… #WQWWC

Mandy dropped her bag on the table. Her mother came out of the kitchen, cleaning her wet hands with a napkin. Mandy did not move, she didn’t acknowledge her mother’s presence, she bent and kept pulling at her shoe buckle trying to free her feet from them.
“You’re back early today.”
“There was no traffic.”
Irene sighed and dropped the napkin on the table. She sat in front of her daughter as Mandy was making a big deal of losing her shoes.
“Do you need help with that?”
“No Mom.” This was unusual, Mandy would normally get home and shout a greeting.
“Mandy?”
Why won’t she just get back to the kitchen?
“Mom? Your food is getting burnt.”
“Mandy?” Her mother called again.
She looked up this time, the sight almost got Irene reeling back into the chair.
She got up and cradled Mandy’s face in her rough worn hands.
“What happened to you? Why are your eyes red? Who hit you?”
“Nobody.”
“Your one word answers won’t help this time. Have you been crying?” Irene shoulders droop as she sat on the centre table facing Mandy.
Mandy burst into another bout of tears.
“Why am I still looking for a job? I have written about a hundred application letters, today interview was the twentieth and I still got that rejection they put in a nice modulated voice.”
Mucus and tears mixed, she tried to wipe them off with the edge of her shirt. Irene could not address those cleanliness and propriety issues right now.
“Listen to me honey. Do you remember how we got a home of our own?”
“Yeah? A friend of Dad called and handed over the keys of the house he had been building the past year.”
“Good. During the times when God was making that provision what was the family situation?”
“We were given quit notice, we had to live with my uncle family and we had to go through many things.”
“Then out of the blue, a miracle. Mandy, God loves us and he cares about us even when we don’t understand the things we go through. The most important lesson that I have learned is to trust God in every circumstance. Lots of times we go through different trials and following God’s plan seems like it doesn’t make any sense at all. God is always in control and he will never leave us. He will work something great for you very soon.  Do your part and then you need to trust him to do his part.”
