Grieving
Stand by the white stone
Tears fall as river rushes
Dressed in cloak of black
Here’s my first Senryu.
* * *
Rosma http:// areadingwritr.wordpress.com/ invited me to join her in writing this kind of poem in one of her perfected Senryu a few days ago. I took up the challenge. She started writing Senryu before Valentine and now she is becoming an expert in writing Senryu. Like she and Thomas says “Senryu can be addicting.” I wish to prove them wrong.:roll:
Yay! Congratulations, Deb! 😀
Just a gentle reminder though. 🙂 Senryu is composed of five, seven, and five syllables (5, 7, 5) or 17 syllables in all. Your first line is only four, the second only six and the last line is just four. 🙂
I think you can add some one syllable word in each line, like for example in second line you can say: Tears fall as river rushes. That will make it 7. 🙂
I am not a pro, my dear. 🙂 I am a beginner too so let’s learn together. 😀
